Fannin County Public Library
Blue Ridge, Georgia
The Fannin County, Georgia Board of Commissioners and the Mountain Regional Library System (MRLS) retained PSI Architecture & Engineering to develop a design and a set of conceptual drawings for a new 12,000 sf Fannin County Public Library.
Place Services, Inc. met with Fannin County and the MRLS over several months and developed a complete conceptual drawing package for their use, including a site plan, floor plans, exterior elevations, and an exterior rendering. The PSI Architecture & Engineering conceptual design drawings show that the library exudes a modern and inviting aesthetic. The structure seamlessly blends contemporary design elements with the natural beauty of the North Georgia Mountains. The exterior features clean lines, large windows, and a mix of wood and stone giving the building a warm and earthy feel.
The library’s interior layout focuses on creating an open and flexible space to accommodate a variety of activities. The layout includes designated areas for reading and studying, as well as gathering spaces for community events and programs. The interior design incorporates a warm color palette with natural materials, reminding visitors of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The use of natural light throughout the library further enhances the welcoming feel and creates a peaceful atmosphere for visitors.
