Department of Driver Services, New Customer Service Center

DALTON, Georgia

The architecture of the Department of Driver Services’ New Customer Service Center on Wagner Drive in Dalton, Georgia, was designed by PSI Architecture & Engineering in collaboration with the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission (GSFIC) and the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS).

This project aimed to create a modern and efficient facility that would serve the needs of Whitfield County residents seeking basic skills, motorcycle, and commercial driver’s license services and testing. The design of the New Customer Service Center focuses on creating a welcoming and accessible environment for visitors. The architecture incorporates contemporary elements into the exterior and interior building design, which are visually appealing and functional. The facility features ample parking to accommodate a large number of customers, and the building itself is designed to be barrier-free, spacious, and well-lit, providing a comfortable setting for driver services.

PSI A&E has a history of working with state and local governments, and their experience in community-driven design is evident in the architecture of this project. By combining aesthetics with practicality, the architecture of the New Customer Services Center in Dalton reflects a commitment to building a stronger community through thoughtful and well-designed buildings. The center opened in July 2022 and greatly enhanced the driver services available to Whitfield County and Northwest Georgia residents.
